Self-taught, Shakil has the ability to work independently of constraints and doesn't feel the need to conform to any particular technique or medium. Her ability to not be trapped within boundaries has gifted her with the drive to work on a
range of projects. From advertising campaigns for chic brands to guerrilla and graffiti art, Naveen has employed her well versed skills in traditional painting, graphic media, software manipulation, and photography to her body
Her current output is a manifestation of all her strengths into one portfolio; her infatuation over the human form, the cleanliness of her technical execution, the diversity of her aesthetic language, and her symbiotic relationship with realism
and surrealism, infused with elements of geometry to create a series of powerful visual compositions.
Naveen Shakil’s wide range of skills enables her to lead the design and maintenance of brand guidelines, presentation booklets, and marketing collateral for corporate identities in conjunction with vendors, sales, and design teams. Her formal training
and background as an architect has equipped her with a skillset that has been paramount to the growth of her career and individual abilities. Being able to visually articulate key strategies through various media, including print, presentations,
digital, and video have been essential components of her professional career (from architecture to graphics). She currently works at Estée Lauder Companies as a contract Senior Designer of Corporate and Global Communications.
Before joining Estée Lauder Companies, she was employed as a Senior Graphic Designer / Art Director for Collection 18, a wholesale fashion design company, where she created custom artwork and illustrations/graphic content for clients’
promotional tools, to be distributed in prestigious department stores such as Sak’s, Macy’s, Bloomingdale's, Lord and Taylor, as well as private brands such as BCBG, Nine West, and Anne Klein. She also redesigned and managed Collection 18’s website
and social media platforms, with the intent to redefine the company’s branding. Prior to Collection 18, she worked as Senior Graphic Designer for a leading marketing and PR company Allegravita, located in NYC.
