Visual artist Gazoo’s trademark “To The Moon” graffiti tag, geometric tapeworks and paint installations have brightened and inspired renowned New York City galleries, spaces, and streets.
Gazoo’s work, regardless of the medium, evokes a sense of transformation and upliftment through creativity, something he learned would be a mainstay of his life as a youth on the dazzling Antillean island of Montserrat.
Born in Montserrat, a small volcanic Caribbean island, visual artist “Gazoo To The Moon” is one of the leading Caribbean artist of his generation. He has studied technical drawing which sparked his interest in architecture and design.
After a six-year career in music management, Gazoo experimented with graffiti art as an alternative creative outlet. His famous “To The Moon” tag can be spotted scattered throughout the street of New York City. As his visual art developed, Gazoo expanded his medium to colored tape and installations, creating unique “Arrow” tapeworks and “Positive Energy” paint installations. He has rendered commissioned work for popup for Alexander Wang (in collaboration with Shop Bop), Refinery29, Estée Lauder and other well-known brands, as well as Netflix’s Daredevil. And worldwide collections in New York, Miami, France, and Japan.
